Roofing quote

Have had 2 quotes from reputable established roofing contractor (birmingham area)
quote 1 my house ( terraced )
remove and re-bed approx 6 mtrs ridge tiles

£750 inc vat

quote 2 moms house (semi deatched with hipped roof )
remove and re-bed 6 ridges across top and 2 * rows of ridge
tiles down sides (front and back) hope that is clear

£1050 inc vat

both quotes inc materials and scaffold
have had cheaper quotes who didnt want to use scaffold,is this ok as
have been told by freind that scaffold has to be used .
does quote seem fair or expensive ?
any feedback gratefully received

Don't know about the quotes but all roof work is meant to be done of a scaffold nowadays

Scaffold doesn't have to be used but any roofer worth his salt will not go on to do ridges without one. Regarding the quotes if they're reputable as you say then ask them to do the work. You will always get a cheaper quote - if you believe they will meet your standards go with them.
