Evening all.

Ive hung and installed a few doors and linings but today I done a fire check door lining and the smoke seal rebates were on both sides of the jamb and the head which is right but also there was rebates on the reverse side of the lining?

Surely I don't have to put smoke seals behind the door lining aswell?

I normally just packer behind the lining and foam up.

Any help would be great

there need to be rebates both sides of the head in case you want to turn it the other way up for a different width opening. I will guess the rebates on the sides are so you can turn them round in case of damage, and it is presumably no significant cost for the works. The brush or intumescent strip is only needed where it meets the door.

There is a limit for the approved size of gap for the pink fire foam, but I've forgotten what it is.
