Does anyone know of a good place to get replacement battery pack?

I'm looking for one for a WaterPik, 2.4V, 1300mAh, the pack seems to be 2 AA Ni-MH's (see photo).

I suppose I could bodge 2 AA's together, but I'd say ensuring continuity between the batteries is hard to achieve without something like a small spot welder.

Any good pointers?

Thanks for the links.

I had thought of the battery holder, but it's too bulky for the space, the 2 AA's are snug enough in there already.

Those tabbed batteries look like they'll do the job. It's safe enough to solder tabs together, isn't it?

If it's nice and neat and you insulate it well from any casings etc it will be fine. If you are not confident get someone to do it for you.

Yeh, it's what they're for.

Obviously try not to cook the battery with the soldering iron though :)

It should be pretty easy to find one of those batteries.

Have a good Google around.

I thought so too, I thought that the pack would have been an off-the-shelf type part, as they usually are nowadays, and that someone would have had a stock of them for reselling to people with the device.

I saw some 3 and 4 battery packs, but not the 2 pack at exactly the same rating I'm looking for (usually higher mAh). I figure I need to match the sum exactly for the wall plug, so that I don't run the risk of burning the house down.

I'll go with the tabbed single batteries, easy to get and cheap; I can get 8 with big tabs shipped from Hong Kong for less than £1 each. Thanks for all the replies and help.

I wouldn't have thought a higher rated battery would cause any problems, it will just take longer to charge if it's been completely run down.

I had a quick search online but could only find lower rated batteries which I assumed you wouldn't want :)
