Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good quality, strong, large loft hatch and ladder combo please?

I was impressed with a wooden 3-part folding ladder attached to a sprung hatch that I once saw in a house. I spotted something similar in B&Q a few years ago that was reduced in their ‘missing parts’ section. Apart from being a bit of a pain to fit, it was good and I liked the strength and that the ladder stores entirely on the loft hatch when folded away.

I have now moved and want a good quality but large hatch and am looking for any recommendations.

B&Q seem to sell two that look like what I had before, this one for £142:

And this one for just £83:

There’s also this one for £255:

They all look very similar! The cheap B&Q one doesn’t seem to show a size and I like the large 1400 x 700 size of the £255 one, but they all have the same max working weight (150 kg) and all look very similar. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should go for please, either these or something else you know is good?

Any advice or recommendations greatly received!
