redecorating: for love or money?

hey,

i've just been watching one of those 'home makeover' programs where they compete to see who can add the most value to their house and it got me thinking-

has anybody else decorated their house exactly how THEY want it, regardless of what might make them the most money if they sold it on??

because we've redecorated, and we did it to our own tastes, very happy with it we are too.

so yeah... just thought i'd get some other opinions!

I must admit I get some of my colours from my clients, if I like the colour they have chosen, I think, Mmmmm this would look nice in my lounge.

The decorating programs dont inspire me at all, if I get an idea in my head of what I want, whether its colours, furniture etc, I always get round to getting it done.
