I have a redring electric shower, model no. 53-558202, which has suddenly stopped operating, approx. 5 years old There are 4 red indicator lights and buttons on the front panel, 3 for different heat settings and the fourth for turning off. The low heat indicator light works, as does the off button but the other two lights are not coming when you press the buttons. This indicates that the power supply is ok. However, the water does not come on with any of the buttons and there are no sounds from the unit when pushing any of the buttons.
Grateful for any advice

Thats a slimline 650.
Check the solenoid coil for resistance, should be 3.4 kohms or above.

Just below the bottom cog behind the plastic cover is the blue solenoid coil.
It has 2 terminals that you place the 2 probes of your multi meter on.
Make sure mains power is off before testing.

Great job Seco, many thanks for your help. I tested the solenoid on Saturday and was getting zero resistance. Ordered a new solenoid from showerdoc which arrived today, installed this evening and the shower is working perfectly again

Glad to see it is.
