Hi guys,
Just after some advice regards an outbuilding I'm renovating.

Right now the door is quite large, around 1.2m wide. The door and frame are useless and need ripping out.

Ideally, and to reduce cost, Id like to reduce the size of the opening, and then buy a more standard (perhaps used) door and side panel), but Id need to reduce the size of the opening by 40-50cm.

Asthetically I have a few ideas on how I could make it look neat, by using some timber cladding, so my question is more about structural side.

How would you normally go about reducing the opening size, in order to create somthing solid to fasten the new frame and door to? I'm assuming bricking it up is the standard method, but just wondered if there are any alternatives?

Cheers guys.
