Hi,

Wondering if someone could answer the query above please i.e. is it ok to do it and how do I go about it?

I have a small rad in bathroom as bypass, but getting fed up of it constantly being burning hot every time boiler is switched on, must be costing a fortuna.

If it's ok to do this I assume I tighten valve on flow side of rad to reduce waterflow thus reducing temp? Am I right or way off the mark as usual?

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers

The temperature is controlled by the boiler thermostat, the rads valves won't alter the temperature just how quickly it heats up. The solution is to fit a proper auto bypass into the system and put a trv on the rad.
