There are only so many ways to slice the proverbial cake.

I think to a large degree, it's almost irrelevant who's in power, unless there are some truly significant changes ... which there won't be.

It's just a matter of priorities, with the same money
 
About Reform cocking things up..... don't forget folks that prior to the formation of UKIP and Reform our conventional political parties had run up a national debt of 3 trillions; given most of our manufacturing to China, put millions out of work whilst bringing in millions of foreigners; ceded control of many local and national authorities to muslims, and have constantly tried to silence anyone who complains or even notices all this.

Yes indeed, there is no magic wand to wave with conventional politics.

Here is an example “here we are 4, 5 years later stuffed with paying 4 times what other countries are paying”

So to analyse

1) it’s not true, we aren’t paying 4 times

2) it’s true energy is very expensive but it’s because:

- post covid inflation and pent up demand for energy
-Ukraine war causing instability
-we have a privatised energy market and are subjected to private equity making price gouging to extract as much money for shareholders
-our electricity is linked to gas power stations not renewable costings
-our energy prices are tied to global fossil fuel pricing


So she is lying when she tries to link high energy prices to net zero.


Ironically right wing people like her approve of privatised free markets which is one of key reasons we pay so much.


France has state owned EDF electricity energy company and they are stopped from profiteering.
