Ground bearing basement slab to be 200mm thick with A252 mesh top and bottom.
Reinforcement cover to be 25mm top cover and 50mm cover to bottom and sides.

My architect and builder are both currently away so I am unable to ask them directly.

I just want to know what the above means exactly so I can understand what the process is - when the time comes to install. Just for my own understanding.

Understand the obvious that the concrete slab to be constructed 200mm thick.
As it mentions top and bottom cover. I take it two steel A252 mesh need to be installed?
Top mesh @ 25mm from top
Bottom mesh @ 50mm from bottom
Side cover @ 50mm

Thank you!

You are correct in your suppositions, but that's quite some spec.
Is this floor for a Deltic locomotive maintenance workshop?

What it means is that you have clueless designer who does not understand structural matters so has just literally made something up!

Failing a job lot of helium balloons from your clown's circus, how are you to hold the top mesh up without creating a cage arrangement?
