I am going to put down a 3m x 3m x 0.1m slab as a base for a garden shed. The shed will be mostly wood so not much load. I've got some wire stock fencing rather like this:

I was thinking of using it to reinforce the concrete. Will this work or could it even weaken the slab. And before anyone asks why I don't just go and buy some reinforcing mesh, it's because I'm tight!

Helpful comments appreciated

If you're tight. why bother reinforcing the concrete anyway?
Crack-prevention is best achieved by a good, well-compacted base.

That guage of wire is only really suitable as anti-shrinkage cracking reinforcement (concrete shrinks when it sets and forms small cracks).

If it's made ground liable to differential settlement, you need proper structural welded square mesh.
