My house used to have gas fires in each room before the previous owner removed them, however when they removed them they left about an 1.5inch of the pip capped above the floor board. Is it alot of work to change this so the cap is below the floor board ? Is this a job for a Corgi person ?

Cheers

About half an hour per pipe+tightness test on completion, yes it is a CORGI installers job. Keith.

Are these bits of pipe really a problem?

If so, you would be advised to get some one who is able to competently alter your existing pipe work, ie is CORGI registered.

The advantage to you is that this person will have two million pounds worth of public liability insurance for you and your family to fall back on should he/she make a mistake, this is something that the gents from the black economy dont mention when they give you a quote ;)

Also, the Registered Installer will carry out a soundness test on the gas pipework whist he/she is there and with your approval give your gas pipe work the benefit of what is best described as a "good coat of looking at"
