Hi there. There used to be a gas fire here and i assume this picture is a gas pipe end cap, capped off when they (old owners) took the gas fire out. Im getting carpet in soon and so want this cap to be either under the floor or, back at the t juntion (of which i assume exists) that goes from supply to kitchen.

My question.

Is this actually a end cap. As a serch is google images looks diffrent?? :\ cheers all!!

Put me nose to it. Theres a slight whiff of gas. Only ever so slight tho. So how can it be only letting such a small ammount pass. Gas safe plumber is comming friday during the day. N its been like that for a year.

Does tgis mean once its done my gas bill will be less :)

Might be the previous owners plugged the pipe by pushing something down it instead of fitting a cap

Could be redundant and not connected to supply. Old gas pipes often smell a bit with residues. Best to get it checked out though.

Could be any of them 3 above. Glad ive got someone comming friday.carpet saturday.
