I'm going to take out an old park ray type fire and would like to know what to do with the pipes going to the hot way tank

After removing the appliance what do you intend to do in the fire place?

Pipes often led straight up to a cylinder but i encountered many variations in the pipe runs and final connections - it might be in your interest, to save an unexpected shower, to get a plumber in to disconnect and cap off?

The pipes often were boxed in on the cheek of the chimney breast - very old pipes would be in lead, more modern in copper.

We are going to close the fireplace as we hope to rent the house out .I can follow the pipes back up to the cylinder .i am intending to take all the radiators out of the house as we are going electric

Alanjgod,

Are you still there? Sorry, but i missed your last post. Do you require any more advice?
