Hello,

After some opinions on removing an open fire back boiler (grant)

Is there a way that i can get this out without destroying the fireplace?

I have all the pipe work disconnected either side of the chimney breast but its still in there pretty solid. Im not familiar with how these would be secured, Cement or fixings?
Seems in good nick so im reluctant to take a grinder to it lol.

Plan is to remove it and fit a stove in the future.

Is it safe to use it as an open fire with the pipe work disconnected and left open/vented? Is there any danger of it burning through due to not having water circulating? Then remove it when we get the stove.

Thanks
