oops ,sorry mate the spanner should be put onto nut ,low down ,and moved upward !! whilst holding the lower nut and pipe ,stopping from moving ! and of course make sure water is off ,before trying .
After turning it the right way, it came off eventually.
I cleaned the inside where the filter is with some dry strong kitchen towel (folded/rolled up into a plush fitting rod shape) and also inside the compression elbow, put everything back together.... and....
