Remove thermostat from hive setup

I’ve replaced a st9400c with hive controller and all is working well with the original room stat turned to max. I would like to remove this stat and wish to confirm the wiring. I understand The brown and earth coloured wires are required to be connected together?
The cable is visible behind the cable marked “hw stat” and has the earth cable sleeved in brown to indicate switched live? I assume I can move this into the wago block with the brown permanent live? What should be done with the existing blue wire?
