How do you get a wylex mcb of the rail. There is a red tag underneath is this a lock of somekind. The reason I am asking is one of the kids has thrown his scooter in the cupboard and hit the fuse and cracked it. In advance thanks for any help :?:

This really isn't safe DIY work.

Playing around with MCB's isn't for the uninitiated, please confirm your skill sets and how you intend to isolate the board and test the circuit after change.

You may need to drop the busbar.
Safe isolation and very careful reconnection of the busbar would be required. It's VERY easy to inset a tag of the busbar behind the terminal of the MCB meaning it's not clamped but merely touching which creates a high resistance connection and possible arcing. Fire may soon follow.

Thanks for your replys, I was going to switch of the main switch make sure everything is dead unscrew the mcb, which i tried but i could'nt get it of the rail i am sure the red tag is stoping it coming of i have pulled it down pushed it up but it still won't come of the rail. Sorry i dont under stand about the test chri5. :?

Although I agree with most of your post I wouldn't think it necessary to test the circuit afterwards with a like for like swap.

If by main switch you mean the one on the CU you are working on PLEASE be aware NOT everything in the CU is dead.
