Hi,

We've decided to take the old gas fire out and once removed found that the pre cast concrete blocks are sticking out over the wall line by about 4 inches. Am i ok to get an angle grinder to cut the blocks by about 5 inches, as this will still support. or will i have to get a lintel in to support the rest of the flue.

Any information welcome.

also thanks in advance.

Out of interest, why are you going from gas to electric?

Hi,

We never use the gas and the electric is more of a display method rather than a heating method.
