Removing a 'pinion' from a motor shaft

Hi All,

Please see the attached photo link below which is from a Stihl hedge cutter.

Can anyone advise how the pinion maybe secured on to the motor shaft. There is no noticeable grub screw and no screw down the centre of the shaft.

If the motor is only ever powered in one direction, it might be screwed on. Other than that, it might be glued in place by the likes of Locktite. Heat might free it in the latter case, if you can risk with using heat on it
