I want to permanently remove a radiator in an upstairs bedroom.
I'll drain the system from downstairs and am ok with draining and removing rad.
It's plastic microbore under the floor connecting to 15mm copper into the rad.
Just wondering what the best way to cap it off is though?
The video I've watched on YouTube he cuts into the floor and cuts the pipes off, before using plastic cap fittings under the floor.
Is there any reason why I can't just cap it above floor and drop the capped pipes into the floor void through the holes, assuming they are big enough?
Would you use plastic (need to scrape the paint off the copper pipe or compression over the top of the pain instead of the valves.
Or would you leave the valves on and cap them where the rad would be?
And if I do need to get that chipboard floor up, what's the nearest way of doing so? It's nailed, not screwed.
Thanks
