I have a combination boiler can I take one radiator off and leave it off till I get a new one also with the system drained can i still us my domestic hot water
The thing you need to be very careful of if you have thermostatic rad valves is that even with them switched off they will sometimes open
Are these blanking caps a standard size, or are they specific for lockshields/TRVs ?
I've struggled to find them in the past - does anyone have a suitable weblink ?
Cheers.
I always remove the old fittings from the rad as they could be specific to the valve and then blank these. In my experiance theres two maybe 3 different size valve fittings but only one inlet size on a rad 3/4bsp I think.

Thanks for that, but I was thinking of a decorating scenario, where you want to refit the same rad and not have to remove the tails ?
Yeah ok, its just your first post said "can i leave it off until i get a new one..." never mind...
