removing ceiling rose?

Morning Chaps,

In our living room, we don't use a main central light. The ceilings are "new build' low and we just use lamps. I removed the cable and lamp holder but was wondering if there would be an issue doing the following:

remove the ceiling rose
throw some wagos on the wires and poke them back in the ceiling
fill and paint

remove the switch
wagos on the wires and blanking plate.

anyone see anything wrong with this approach? does it go against an kind of reg?

cheers

Not as casual as that! You can use Wagos but the entire junction must be enclosed in a Wagobox. Or you could use a purpose made maintenance free junction like this

Remember that the ceiling rose may also be providing power to other lights in the house. Take photos of the connections before you undo anything.

That bit of your plan is ok. You can’t plaster over the switch though, as there will be live wires left in the wall.
