Removing existing socket & replacing with a spur

OK, here's the situation.

The house was rewired years ago & the person who did it ran the cable (2 x 2.5mmT+E) in conduit on the surface of the wall (original single T+E wire still in the capping in the wall).

As I don't really want to chase the new cables into the wall, can I pull the cables up into the loft & wiret them into a junction box, run a cable to a metal clad socket for loft power & run some new T+E down the original conduit (assuming I can get the old out!)?

If the old cable will come out, what is the best way of feeding the new down? strong string to the old & pull the string through then use the string to pull the new through or am I completely off target here?

Thanks

It just seems the ideal time to put a socket in since there's no light or power up there at the moment.

what's the best way to replace the original cable in the conduit?

Why not fit an MK metalclad socket in the loft, and run the spur off from that?

I probably will if I can get all 3 conductors in the screw terminals.

Still stuck with getting the old cable out & the new in though!
