Hi all
I am planning on removing this timber and render panel cladding and replacing with oak in a herringbone pattern.

Does anyone know what to expect when removing this? How would it be fixed, in the loft there are vertical timbers in line with the external timbers, then there is a black bitumen type of paper covering the whole area underneath. (1930's house)

The external timbers are showing signs of decay and I want to improve the look see 2nd picture.

Any help would be appreciated.

Vertical timbers will have bricks between usually a single skin, very prone to cracking , I removed mine in previously property and replaced with new timber and ply face which was then clad .
