Removing gloss with electric scraper

Just wondering has anyone tried to remove thick gloss paint from skirtings and architraves with
Bosch PMF 180 E Multifunctional tool with the scraping attachment or similar .

The idea would be to scrape off the outer thick gloss then sand and repaint.

Removing the wood is not an option and chemical strippers have only touched the outer coats on similare jobs in the past.

Any ideas ?

Never used one myself so couldn't say, if the paintwork is sound it may be a less messy option to sand back the surface. If I ever have to remove any paintwork I would normally use a heat gun.
