i got to take up a vinyl floor which has been glued on to a concrete floor, before tiling it. I have taken up a section finding it very hard to remove the glue before i start tiling, or is it ok to tile over the top, any ideals ??? many thanks

One way or another you’ve really got to remove the glue I’m afraid, or as much of it as possible; there is no way of predicting what will happen if you tile over it.

I would advise you read the Tiling Sticky & Forum Archive posts before doing any work or buying materials, it could prevent you making disastrous & potentially expensive mistakes. It’s important to use only quality trade tilling materials of the correct type for your tiles & tile base; cheapo own brand & DIY stuff is mostly crap.

scrape as much off as you can.
.one..then use a latex based self levelling compound over it...

two...use a slurry coat sbr/cement...but work fast while its still tacky..
saying that, go with the latex slc,the slurry coat might be a bit to hard for you to do.. ;)
