has anyone totally removed the pebbledash and rendering themselves to return a house back to the lovely brick it's covering?? or will this just leave the house looking in a worse state?

I think it all depends on the condition of the bricks underneath. I have heard that more often than not, that removal damages the bricks quite alot. I had to remove a small patch of render from my house recently to do a repair and the wall was in a sorry state underneath.

Lovely Brick  I`ve never seen lovely brickwork rendered over..........tho` a Georgian facade over an Eliz. house might have it

if a build project has been earmarked for render or dash then it will be built from either blocks or common bricks.

not too pretty i'm afraid.
