I've bought a singe LED strip/tube light to go on the "ceiling" of my chimney breast, to light the cooking area.

This is main 240v and supplied with a plug.

Because i am drylining the chimney breast (currently brick), i was wanting to run the cable hardwired from the socket (hiding cable behind the plasterboard)

There is an on/off switch on the light tube itself.

Is it possible to simply remove plug and wire it directly into the double plug socket?

brown to L
blue to N
earth to earth

thanks

possible but not sensible. is it possible to fit a socket/fcu at the same level as the tube and plug into that

do you have a link to the lap grid system?
If not, would i just use a 3 core cable to hard wire from the double socket to the fused spur, and then just connect the LED light to the fused spur?
