I want to remove a radiator to paper the wall it is on. Since the days right now are a bit cold, will I still be able to run the GCH and hot water when the radiator is removed? Do I need to test all radiators, etc once the radiator is put back in? Thank you for your help.

turn off both valves
drain rad into a tray or similar

replace rad afterwards
open valves
bleed
check pressure if a sealed system
feel smug

or freeze the pipes? my new freezer toy arrived today but haven't had any time to try it out yet.

u21an - you know you can often lift the rad off its hooks and lay it down, if you loosen the unions just enough, and they won't leak?
