We need to remove a radiator in the bathroom as some of the tiles have come off the wall, however the radiator is connected to a Yorkshire Imperial Maxitwin radiator valve and we have no idea how to disconnect the radiator.

Can anyone give us a step by step guidance on how to proceed and what tools we need for the job?

Cheers

close wheel head part of valve and then unscrew the domed chrome cap next to this valve, you should now see a slotted screw fully close this by turning it clockwise, the rad is now isolated.

drain radiator (by cracking the large nut using small stilsons and an adjustable spanner) - open the air vent and catch water in a small tub.

unhook rad and slide away from valve as there is a small bore tube (i call it a throw pipe) inside the rad connected to the valve.

redecorate then reverse the process.

sounds easy doesnt it :?
