We are confused with the types of valves on the market - we were looking at a double - check valve - since it looked like the thing we needed for the job.

We are currently changing a bathroom radiator - but until the wall is tiled, the radiator cannot be fully connected (towel radiator hence problem). We want to install a valve to isolate the water supply, but keep the pipework in place while we finish the bathroom.

Is this the correct valve?, since we have come across single check / double check / service valves and dont know which is right.

You can either cap the pipes with Speedfit plastic push fit caps, or also use the radiator valves to isolate the radiator.

Use isolation valve, also if the valve on display, use chrome brass compression sevice valve, not speedfit cos it's plastic and no good for earthing bonding. ;)

YOu can use an iso valve temporarily, but don't leave these things on heating :

Because they'll have your ceilings down.

just put the rad valves on and close them.
then when finished bathroom fit rad.
isolation valves have very small inner bore.
