Hi,

just fitted some new skirtings and architraves in the whole house. What's the best way to remove/clean off some large sap rivers from the timber, before priming and painting?

Thanks,

Henrik

Blowtorch or better still heat gun. Warm the sap up till it bubbles, then remove with a decorating knife, or a cloth, repeat until there little / none left. You may have to wait until the sap is dry, scrape / sand off any excess, and seal with knotting compund. Then prime etc.

yep whatever you do don't forget the knotting compound or it will just come back through your paint again.

Try Methylated spirit. This is a vg solvent remover for resin. will also clean your knotting brush. Good luck
