Decided to spray paint some black plastic picture frames in the house gold, the finish is terrible so I'm hoping I can strip the paint off and maybe try another brand of paint as I have sprayed other frames and items they look ok.

Would it be easier to sand them then re-paint? Unless they are a detailed frame may be easier
