Redoing the bathroom and thus far I've removed a load of tiles off the walls.
Now on to the floor. I have ceramic tiles which have been laid onto a sheet of 6mm ply which has then been screwed to the floor with hundreds of screws.

The tiles are extremely well stuck to the adheisive which is equally well stuck to the ply.

So far I've managed to lever some fragmented pieces of tile and ply. Thing is I don't think its really an option to continue doing this as i'm damaging the floor boards and my arms are just too tired.

Anyone have some advice? Could I just level the missing bits and tile over the existing tiles? I guess this would make the floor 10-15mm higer than the carpeted hall which may cause a trip hazard?

This is the toilet which I also have to do which shows the hall carpet level with the existing tiles

Unfortunately you really need to get them up. Any damage to the floorboards will be covered with the new ply. You might be as well to grind the screws off once you have removed the ply because the heads will be filled with adhesive.

Well several hours later I'm done in the bathroom. God dam it was hard work. Lots of banging, hammering, levering and prying.

I've still got to do the toilet which I'm not looking forward to.
