Hi All,

I am trying to change the handles on two uPVC doors. I've removed the handles fine but the spindle does not slide out, it's almost as if it's integrated with the locking mechanism rather than an additional part, or is there something else I'm missing?

I'd leave the original spindle in place but it's too long for the new handles, so wanted to check if there is an easier way before I try taking a hacksaw to it to remove a few mm.

Thanks.

It's a 5 minute job with a hacksaw, don't waste any more time than you have to.

It should slide out, it can only be a bit of corrosion that's stopping it, try giving it a tap with a hammer, if not just do as suggested and lop a bit off both ends

Thanks both,
Gave it a spray of WD40 this morning then a few gentle taps with a hammer and got both doors out.
