Renault Clio Boot Not Always Locking

Hi,

I have a 1999 Renault Clio 1.4

It has remote central locking, but the boot doesn't always lock / unlock with the rest of the car. All the doors lock properly every time, but the boot seems to choose when it wants to lock and unlock. It will however lock / unlock perfectly if I use the key in the boot - which I have to if it refuses to lock with central locking.

Would resetting the central locking help?

It sounds like a dodgy contact to the boot lock. Im no expert though
