The remote control fob can be affected by strong radio signals from other sources. These include close proximity to a Police staion, hospital or taxi office etc. It's a very common problem.

I agree that is very true. Moving the vehicle a few meters forward or back can restore the link, BUT repeated pressing of the fob can unitiate it to the vehicle, and it would require local reprogramming.
It's crazy how elecronic opening doors in a supermarket, or a mobile mast can scramble the signal, but they do.
I wonder if an in car speed camera sensor might affect the signal too?
Others have reported, where the receiver is (ie in the centre dash, near the gearstick), that any loose change stored there, would interfere with the signal to the fob..
