renualt laguna key pad

hi i have a renualt laguna 2004 model with the credit card style key. the one key works fine but the spare only opens and locks the car sometimes. i have changed the battery but it is still the same any ideas and approx how much would one of these cost to replace or repair thanks for any advice given

Prob looking at the thick end of £100 for a new Card + coding!

We charge around £115 inc coding for a replacement card (Renault dealer)

Have you tried tightening the card battery terminals to give better contact?

The old card may just need re-coding, but if that fails its some ££ down the drain

Hate to disagree Kingboy, but if it's needing reprogrammed, it won't work at all, not intermittently. More likely a faulty card.

Yeah prob right, its not that usual for them to not start the car, much more common for the internal switches to fall off and it not unlock, just becomes a credit card rattle then
