Renault megane scenic sunroof inner sliding panel sticking

I have a 1999 Renault megane scenic with 2 sun roofs,
I have the same problem with each sun roof.
I can open and close the sun roof quite easily,
but it’s the inner sliding panels which stick, there made up of two sections and pull as I may, I cannot pull them along to fully close,
can anyone advise what I can do?

are they supposed to close fully?
have you checked other meganes for comparison?

yes they should fully close, and open so i can see the sunroof.

sounds like the headlining will have to come out to get to the slides. chances are that the guides have become detached and are stopping full movement.

while you've got it apart take time to check/clear the drain tubes for the sunroof gutter - it'll save you a problem later on.
