Hi Guys

Im looking for s heads up on a job I’m thinking of having done on my Trafic

Ive owned the Van for maybe 11 years its had about 35,000 miles on it , its now got 128,00 in it , its in good nick and well looked after / serviced etc

There are no problems re running etc , its easily the best early morning starting Van I’ve ever had , I ve got a friend who had a Turbo go on his Vivaro causing a lot of damage , is it worth doing a prevention job rather than a repair ? Ie have a new Turbo fitted ??

Any idea of cost etc , is it an easy job etc

Thanks in anticipation of some responses

Regards

Phil

It's a bit of a difficult one Phil.....a worn turbo doesn't have to disintegrate and wreck your motor.
I would, however, monitor any smoke and oil consumption and maybe take the pipes off from the turbo just to see if the vanes are contacting the aluminium housing. Your turbo has done a lot of spinning!
There's no great issue with fitting a new or reconditioned turbo and as ever, fresh oil and filters are the secret to long life.
John :)
