Hi,

this is my first post & I'm a DIyer !!
I've just reduced the height of the chimney on my bungalow and chipped off the blown and cracked render.
Some of the brickwork is crumbling & I'll reset these bricks.

However I'm not sure how to go about rendering it, namely:

What mix do I use (2 coats ?)

Can I render over the top of the lead flashing or do I need a special sealer applied to where it goes into the brickwork first ?

Does it need a PVA bond onto bricks first ?

Do I need to use angle beads and 'flare' it out at the bottom (below the flashing)

Thanks very much to anyone who takes time to reply

Mark
