Hi
I have an oil fired Rayburn for my central heating which at the moment has 22 mm pipe leaving the boiler to the pump and from the pump to the first radiator where it reduces to 15mm and thereafter to 8mm microbore.
There is also obviously a manifold for the microbore.
I want to renew the pipe work as its very old and a bit of a mess, and would prefer to use either 22 mm then 15mm to rads or 15 throughout on a flow and return system.
Can I replace the micobore system as above or am I as well using new microbore.
At the moment we have a total 6.7kw output through the rads and the Rayburn has an output of 17.2kw so the larger pipework will not affect pressure temp etc ?
Also as we have concrete floor on the ground floor the downstairs rads are on an inverted loop system and I want to instsall 2 more rads downstairs, can I simply T off the flow and return dropping the pipes down and T ing off again to both rads.
I would appreciate any suggestions etc.
