We live in a rented 3 bed house with single glazed windows. The main windows are divided into those small square ones and the central heating is oil fired. As the house is in the country within a conservation area and the owner lives in Australia we are severely limited in what we can do to improve things.

What are the best options that we can take to improve the heat loss, at minimal outlay, yet be easily removed to restore the house back to its original condition if we decide to move somewhere else in the future?

Thanks Footprint. Will look into that and see how much it will cost to do the whole house.

Done that Big All. One bedroom is not used and we also keep the door closed but they were still dripping this morning.

There is a radiator under the window in this bedroom so have turned that off this morning. Plan is to keep the room closed, curtains shut and see if this has any effect tomorrow.

you need to ventilate to remove the excess moisture

my suggestion is to ventilate during the day for around 2 hours when the heating is off
