Hi all

thanks to the excellent posts here I have realised i need to fit a new mixer valve / cartridge for my shower

http://www.shower-spares.co.uk/aqualisa/aquatique_thermostatic.htm

it is of the hidden type.
I have got the tap etc removed leaving the cartridge exposed
but i can see no way of actually getting the cartridge out!
I have removed the four screws that attach the cartridge to the body but it doesnt want to budge,
I dont want to force and make it worse.

any advices please?

Thanks

It'll only be stuck with the gasket that sits behind it.
it has nothing else holding it once the 4 screws are removed.

Thanks for that
I gave it a bit of welly and it came out.
greased all the o rings but its still leaking
so i guess i need a new cartridge!

being stupid when i drained the water from the tank in the loft i then turned of the bath taps and now have airlocks in both taps
is the only way to get rid of it by connecting a hose to a mains pressure tap or can i just re drain the tank, open the taps and re fill??

thanks

you can try draining it and refilling leaving taps open then as each one starts to run shut it.
does work but not all the time.
