Hi

I just wondering how much roughly I should expect to pay someone to repair my flaking chimney. I picked up 3 large pieces of what looked liked a part of a brick this afternoon. Having inspected my chimney further it needs remedial works done to it pretty sharpish, as one corner of the stack has a brick missing where it has weathered away and it looks like its slouching on one side.

I was thinking around the £260-£300 mark, complete with access to the roof with a scaffold ideally. is that fair?

Scaffold alone will cost that. Looks pretty bad tbh. Probably with access & a serious overhaul your looking at around the £1000 if not more mark. Hard to say without a proper examination. You might do a deal if the pigeons used as a bargaining chip ;P

yeah i agree. chimney scaffold will be £300ish
getting it rendered might be cheaper than repaired/repointed
