Trying to refurb, refresh and repair my kitchen to save buying new.

Nasty little chip on the top drawer right by the sink. See pics.

Looked into buying a new drawer front but not feasible as units 25 yrs old and a new one would not be the same colour.

Could I possibly sand this down and touch it up with a few coats of primer plus an eggshell top coat bought to match?

Thanks x

Hmmmmmmm.....

You would need to cut back the melamine and scrape out loose bits of chipboard, then use 2-part woodfiller to bring it up to the right level. Then sand, and paint. And it would probably still look awful!

Scrape it back and create a deeper dwell(hole) drill a few shallow holes at about 45º this will allow for better grip of the filler, 2 pack wood filler is pretty much your only option (think car body filler) then fill but don't try and fill in one go, fill and sand, fill and sand until your happy with how it looks. It wouldn't hurt to prime it prior to filling either.

Good Luck
