I am looking for some rapid advice. Recently a contractor laid a mag loop in my drive so the gates open to let vehicles out. They filled the slotwith what I assume is hot tarmac, which I would expect to have been filled slightly proud whilst it cooled. However, it is not, and when queried theysaid this was normal...the top would be filled with general detritus over time. My view is it will fill with water, freeze, and rip the slot edges apart
I am also slightly suspicious that as thet aporoach the control box on the gatepost, they filled the slot withcold press tarmac. Which actually suggests they ran out of the correct stuff.
My question is, should a 5mm slot cut in tarmac on a driveway be finished rebated, flush or slightly proud?
