Hello. My 5 year old daughter has broken my two year olds cot bed by jumping in it. One of the side rails has split and cannot support much weight. How best to fix this? Should I simply get a similar size wooden beam and drill holes so that I can secure the beam to the rail, thus reinforcing it? Any particular wood I should use?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers guys. Went for a couple of jointing plates. Seems to have done the trick! Even supports my weight!
