Replace imperial hinge with metric?

They may be called 16 inch, but I bet they are sll really metric, its just that any particular make will be slightly different.
Since friction stays fit in a euro groove, the length doesnt matter.
Its likely they will fit and work ok, it depends whether the replacement has a similar opening action.
If the window opens 90 degrees and is egress then you need a different hinge
